Scotland were crowned winners of the ICC European U-19 Championship in Glasgow despite persistent rain allowing only two matches to be completed in the three-day tournament.
Scotland finished on the same points as Ireland after both sides won their opening matches on Tuesday, but ended with a higher net run-rate and so claimed the title from the defending champion.
They produced a convincing nine-wicket victory over Denmark at Hamilton Crescent on the opening day, bowling Denmark out for 91 in 22.3 overs and reaching the target in 17.2 overs for the loss of just one wicket.
Scotland scored their runs quickly enough to ensure they stood top of the table ahead of their Irish rivals on net run rate after the first day's play.
Defending champions Ireland got their title defence off to a fantastic start with a nine-wicket win over Netherlands at Greenock.
The British weather put a halt to the second day's fixtures as persistent rain prevented Scotland's match against the Netherlands at Greenock CC from getting started and Ireland's clash with Denmark was abandoned after 22 overs with Denmark 75 for 6.
