Ranjit Saini has been elected president of Cricket Canada. In the election held at the Annual General Meeting on March 22, Saini was elevated from his position as first vice president.
His promotion was widely expected since Saini has been fulfilling the president role over recent months. He has overseen a difficult period for the administration with the loss of sponsors Scotiabank in November last year but has however, outlined a series of ambitious plans, including staging international fixtures at the Rogers Centre in Toronto. It must be said, however, little tangible progress has been made on many of the plans as yet.
Other executives elected at the meeting are Vimal Hardat (second vice president) and Calvin Clarke who was re-elected secretary. Ravin Moorthy was elected first vice president to fill the seat vacated by Saini.
