Opener Tamim Iqbal, who has recovered from a wrist surgery that kept him out of the historic New Zealand series win, has been included in Bangladesh's 20-member preliminary squad for the ODI series against Zimbabwe.
Mashrafe Mortaza, who hobbled out of the New Zealand ODIs with an injury in the opening game, is also back in the side. In Mortaza's absence, Shakib Al Hasan took over captaincy and led the side to a 4-0 victory, but if fit, Mortaza is expected to reclaim the leadership role. Mohammad Ashraful's stuttering international career was given another lease of life as he too found a place in the squad, which will be pruned following a training camp from October 31.
Preliminary squad: Shakib-Al-Hasan, Mashrafe Mortaza, Tamim Iqbal, Imrul Kayes, Shahriar Nafees, Junaid Siddique, Raqibul Hasan, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mahmudullah, Abdur Razzak, Shafiul Islam, Rubel Hossain, Suhrawadi Shuvo, Naeem Islam, Jahurul Islam, Syed Rasel, Nazmul Hossain, Mohammad Ashraful, Shahadat Hossain, Shuvagoto Hom
