Tamim heads to Australia for injury check-up

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has decided to send opener Tamim Iqbal to Australia for a check-up as he has been experiencing lingering pain in his wrist following an injury he sustained last year. Tamim returned to bat last Monday after a long break but complained there still was pain in his left hand and that he was not feeling good when batting.
"He will go to Australia as soon as he gets the visa. We have decided to send him to Australia for check-up because we thought he will at least be mentally satisfied," Enayet Hossain Siraj, a BCB official, told The Daily Star. "We took the decision after discussing the matter with our physio (Michael Henry)."
Tamim suffered the injury during an ODI in Chittagong against Zimbabwe on November 5 last year. Subsequent scans revealed a hairline fracture. Despite being advised against batting during practice or matches, Tamim continued to play, further aggravating the injury during a domestic match. He fought the pain barrier to play in the Lord's Test against England, despite struggling with the injury throughout the tour.
