Kamrul Islam has played eight ODI matches for Bangladesh U19s. He is an opening bowler but has yet to show his talents on the international stage, having taken only five wickets. He is a typical number 11 batsman, having scored 14 runs from four innings. Islam only played in three of the seven matches in the recent tri-nations U19 ODI tournament featuring England and Sri Lanka in Bangladesh, and did not make the impact he needed to force his way into the first eleven for the World Cup.
