Profile

Hasibul Hossain is the only genuine quick bowler of Bangladesh who is operating the new ball for almost six years for his country. He had an auspicious start against Sri Lanka in 1995, Asia Cup, when he dispatched Roshan Mahanama for by a lethal out swinger in his very first over. He hardly had to look back the following years. He was equally successful in ICC Trophy and World Cup 1999. In those tournaments he appeared as the only bowler for his country to attack the opponent batsmen.

Being the leading wicket taker for his country in the ODI, Hasibul is looking forward to demonstrating the same skill in the game's longer version. He played the Test against India and got Ramesh's wicket in the second innings.

The first Test in Zimbabwe appeared to be frustrating for Hasibul as he was treated ruthlessly by the host bowlers and had to give away 45 runs in his first five-over spell. He was laboring with his line and pitched the ball short of length quite often. He was ruled out for the next Test.

Hasibul can move the ball at both directions and apt to squeeze the favor out of the wicket pretty soon. He was sent to MRF Pace Foundation in June 2001, to fix up a few problems. He came back and joined the Bangladesh team camping in BKSP.
