Profile

Peter Forrest made a solid start to his first-class career when he was called into the New South Wales side late in 2006-07. He opened with 40 against Queensland and followed up with 61 batting at No. 3 against Tasmania. However, he was squeezed out of the line-up for the Pura Cup final after Ben Rohrer's debut century moved him ahead in the queue. A right-handed batsman, Forrest spent three seasons on the New South Wales rookie list before being upgraded to the senior squad for 2007-08. In that summer he displayed more of his promise in a campaign that was highlighted by 177 against Tasmania. In eight Pura Cup games he managed 430 runs at 30.71 and was handed a stint at the Academy for the winter. Another century came last season with 135 against South Australia, but his form tailed off and he missed the final Sheffield Shield game after 447 runs at 27.93.
